BRIEF HISTORY OF ETERNAL EXCELLENCY COLLEGE
The vision of Eternal Excellency College (ETEC) fondly called ETEC was conceived in between 2012 and 2013, but came to reality in September, 2016 when the school actually started. The main objective is to build confident, balanced, self-motivated, competent and internationally relevant future leaders, and to inculcate in them a strong set of values that will enable them impact our nation for better and make significant contributions to the world beyond School. The name of the school emanates from the Bible, Isaiah 60:15 “Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations”.
The school is located at Plot 6-8, Seweje Layout, Idi-isin, Yawiri Area, Akobo-Ojuirin, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The school stated with nineteen students in JSS 1 and JSS 2 classes at the beginning. The school started as a little seed at Akobo and the place became too small for the vision. Additional existing structures on plots of land next to the school were acquired beside the original site which naturally afforded the school the opportunity to expand. Since inception, the school has been blessed with matured, committed, competent and well-rounded experience teaching and non-teaching staff. The school is already at another phase of growth. On the general well-being of the school, much is being committed to training of staff. Their selfless services tremendously helped and still help in moving the school forward. The learning environment of ETEC is conducive and promotes assimilation. Eternal Excellency College is moving forward towards the goal of unparalleled excellence and with God on our side, we shall reach our goal.
From the commencement of the academic session of ETEC, vocational studies like training on musical instruments, artistic designs as well as literary activities like debate, inter-competition and inspiring playlets capable of developing the reasoning of the students had been part of our culture. Our students are encouraged to make reasonable contribution in writing as part of our goals to develop them. ETEC has a well-equipped Computer Laboratory which serves as our ICT center. Relevant software for training is available and our students are benefitting maximally. ETEC has well-equipped Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Home Economics and General-purpose laboratory
